Saint Francis today

Saint Francis Today

Saint Francis of Assisi isn’t just a figure from the past—his presence continues to inspire people around the world today, especially those who strive to live the Gospel as he did. His love for Jesus teaches us that true life never ends because it’s rooted in a relationship with God and a connection with others. Faith isn’t a solo journey; it’s something we share, a web of real and authentic relationships.

Even though we’re all fragile, with our own struggles and limitations, Francis still inspires us. Choosing to follow his way of life is like accepting an invitation: to live the Gospel with simplicity, brotherhood, and joy, just as he did when he founded the Order of Friars Minor.

An Invitation for You

If you’re curious about Saint Francis, if you have big questions about your life or your dreams, or if you think the Gospel might have something meaningful to say to you, know that we friars would love to meet you.

It doesn’t matter if you have lots of doubts, if you’re just starting your journey, or if you’re not even sure what you believe yet. Every genuine search has value, and every question is a step forward. Often, it’s in moments of uncertainty that the most beautiful paths open up.

How to Meet Us

If you’re ever in Assisi, reach out to Friar Fabrizio or Friar Nicola at the Franciscan Youth Center (CFG) at the Basilica of Saint Francis. They’d be happy to grab a coffee with you or take a walk along the same paths Saint Francis once traveled. You can email them at segreteria@giovaniversoassisi.it.

If you live far away and don’t know any friars near you, don’t worry—we’ll do our best to connect you with someone from our Franciscan family in your area.

Remember: every great adventure starts with a small step. Even Francis, as a young man, began his journey full of questions and a desire to find meaning in his life.

Your dreams, your questions, your fears, and your hopes are treasures. Let’s share them together.
